MY EXPERIENCES WITH COMPUTER GAMES
我与电脑游戏的经历
I clearly remember the first time I played a computer game.
我清楚地记得第一次玩电脑游戏的场景。
I was seven years old.
那时我七岁。
My friend had gotten a computer for his birthday.
我的朋友生日收到了一台电脑。
He invited me to play a game, which was very simple by today’s standards, but we loved it!
他邀我一起玩一款游戏,以如今的标准来看十分简单,但我们玩得不亦乐乎!
We played for hours.
我们一玩就是好几个小时。
We would meet after school every day to play it.
我们每天放学后都会碰面一起玩游戏。
My addiction to computer games started then.
我对电脑游戏的沉迷便是从那时开始的。
Not long after that, my friend moved to the city.
在那之后不久,我的朋友搬到城里去了。
I missed him, but I got my own computer and began playing by myself.
我很想念他,不过我拥有了属于自己的电脑,开始独自玩游戏。
Over the years, computer games developed rapidly.
多年以来,电脑游戏飞速发展。
Technology improved, and there were always new and better games to play.
技术不断进步,不断有更新、更好的游戏问世。
You could then play games over the Internet with people from all over the world, using either computers or smartphones.
那时人们可以通过电脑或者手机,联网和世界各地的玩家一同游戏。
The online games were fascinating and it was always exciting to play.
网络游戏十分吸引人,游玩的过程总是充满乐趣。
At first, I played games over the Internet after I had done my homework and eaten dinner.
起初,我都是写完作业、吃完晚饭之后才上网玩游戏。
Then I started playing as soon as I got home each day.
后来,我每天一到家就开始玩。
My parents stopped me, so I started playing it in the middle of the night.
父母制止我之后,我就开始半夜偷偷玩。
I went to school and often fell asleep in class.
去上学时,我经常在课堂上打瞌睡。
My teacher would scold me but I would often do the same thing the next day!
老师会批评我,可第二天我依旧照旧!
Shortly after that, I began to skip meals and play through the night.
在那之后没多久,我开始不吃饭,通宵打游戏。
My parents found out and took away my computer and smartphone.
父母发现之后,没收了我的电脑和手机。
I knew I had gone too far.
我知道自己做得太过火了。
My love of computer games had become an addiction.
我对电脑游戏的喜爱已经演变成成瘾。
It was affecting my schoolwork and my health, and I felt quite depressed.
这影响了我的学业与健康,我心情十分低落。
Then one day I bumped into my friend again!
后来有一天,我偶遇了那位朋友!
He had moved back to our hometown.
他搬回了我们的家乡。
We hadn’t seen each other for ages.
我们已经很久没有见面了。
He looked happy and healthy.
他看起来开心又健康。
We talked about the past and the good times we had, playing that old game.
我们聊起往昔,回忆当初一起玩那款老游戏的美好时光。
He still played computer games, but he also did many other things.
他依旧玩电脑游戏,但同时也培养了许多其他爱好。
He invited me to play basketball with some friends.
他邀请我和几位朋友一起打篮球。
I got tired quickly, but I loved it!
我很快就累了,但是我十分喜欢这项运动!
Afterwards, we played a board game.
之后,我们又玩了桌游。
We laughed and talked and played for hours.
我们说笑、玩耍,度过了好几个小时。
It was very sociable and great fun.
这样的相处充满互动,十分有趣。
Playing games with my friends in real life was much more enjoyable than doing so online.
和现实中的朋友一同玩乐,远比线上游戏更加令人愉悦。
Computer games are great fun and I still play them sometimes.
电脑游戏十分有趣,我现在偶尔也会玩。
New technology is making more amazing things possible.
新技术让更多新奇的事物成为现实。
I’ve learnt that some games can even teach us to train our brains to solve problems.
我了解到,有些游戏甚至可以锻炼我们的大脑,教会我们解决问题。
However, games can also be addictive, so balance is important for a healthy lifestyle.
但是,游戏同样容易使人上瘾,因此平衡对于健康的生活方式至关重要。
We can spoil good things by doing them too much.
再好的事情,一旦过度,也会适得其反。
Now I enjoy playing games even more because I am able to maintain a good balance between work and play.
如今我更加享受游戏,因为我能够在学习和娱乐之间维持良好的平衡。
