We often use slang expressions when we talk, because they are so vivid and colorful.
我们说话时会经常使用俚语，因为俚语很生动、很丰富多彩。
However, they are usually out of place in formal writing because of a number of drawbacks.
不过由于一些缺点，我们在正式写作中通常不会使用它们。
They go out of date quickly and become tiresome if used too much.

And they may communicate clearly to some readers but not to others.
