Reporter: I’m at the opening of “Culture and Ceremony: Bronze in Ancient China”, a new exhibition at the British Museum in London.

记者：我现在正在伦敦大英博物馆新展《文化与礼仪：中国古代青铜》的开幕现场。

It’s very popular! Visitors have come to admire fantastic relics from the National Museum of China in Beijing.

这场展览十分火爆！游客们前来欣赏来自北京中国国家博物馆的精美文物。

Here now is Chinese bronze expert, Li Chen.

现在有请中国青铜器专家李晨。

Could you tell us what visitors can expect to see here, Mr Li?

李先生，您能和我们说说游客们将会在这里看到些什么吗？

Li Chen: Yes, as part of an exchange programme, we’ve brought some of our best bronze relics to put on display.

李晨：好的。作为一项交流项目的一部分，我们带来了一批顶尖青铜文物进行展出。

Bronze has an important place in Chinese history.

青铜在中国历史上占据重要地位。

It was used for many purposes, from food containers to important ceremonial items.

它用途广泛，从食器到重要礼器都有使用。

Some of the relics on display here date back to the Xia and Shang Periods.

本次展出的部分文物可以追溯至夏商时期。

The beautiful and detailed designs are a reflection of the wisdom and artistic talent of our ancestors.

精美繁复的纹饰，体现出我们祖先的智慧与艺术才华。

Reporter: That’s incredible. I particularly like the bronze instruments. So, is this an ongoing exchange programme?

记者：真是令人惊叹。 我尤其喜欢这些青铜乐器。那么，这是一个持续性的交流项目吗？

Li Chen: Yes, the programme began with the British Museum’s exhibition in Beijing in 2015.

李晨：是的。该项目始于2015年大英博物馆在北京举办的展览。

The aim is to promote cultural exchange between nations.

项目旨在促进各国之间的文化交流。

Although there are a lot of bronze relics to see here, it’s a small selection of what the National Museum of China has.

尽管本次展出的青铜文物数量不少，但这只是中国国家博物馆馆藏的一小部分。

We hope this taste will encourage more people to visit Beijing in the future!

我们希望这次展览能让大家一睹风采，吸引更多人今后前往北京参观！

Visitors are already amazed by the splendid and long-standing culture of ancient China, and I have one here with me now.

Tania is a teacher visiting with her art students.

塔妮娅是一名教师，她正带着美术专业的学生前来观展。

What do they think of the exhibition so far?

到目前为止，学生们觉得这场展览怎么样？

Tania: They love it. They’re impressed by the age of the objects and the level of craftsmanship.

塔妮娅：他们非常喜欢。文物的年代与精湛工艺让他们印象深刻。

Reporter: Have they seen relics like these before?

记者：他们以前见过这类文物吗？

Tania: They’ve seen other bronze relics in museums before, but this has really stirred their interest to learn more!

塔妮娅：他们之前在博物馆见过其他青铜文物，但这次展览真正激起了他们深入了解的兴趣！
