W: Hi, Frank. Are you working through your lunch hour again?

M: No, not at all. It's my tenth wedding anniversary next week and I promised Jane that I would book a city break for us as I have annual leave to take.

男：完全没有。下周是我结婚十周年纪念日，我答应了简，趁着有年假，订一趟城市短途旅行。

And it would be nice to celebrate somewhere warm. So I'm trying to book something in Barcelona.

W: That sounds so romantic. I adore Barcelona. It's such a fabulous cosmopolitan city.

There's so much to do there: excellent food and that cathedral that they are still building after about 150 years. Very cool.

M: I know, but the anniversary is looming and I'm still scrambling to find accommodation.

Everything is either wildly expensive or already fully booked. I'm starting to feel a bit frantic.

W: Well, if you are going for a whole week, why don't you do a couple of nights in somewhere really glamorous and then do the rest of the week a bit further up the coast where the accommodation is cheaper?

And that will offset the cost of the expensive place.

M: That might be a good plan. It's not too expensive to rent a car, so we could still drive into the city.

Yes, there are lots of places outside the city that have pools and are all inclusive, so we wouldn't even need to pay for food or drinks.

W: That sounds perfect. I'm sure that Jane will be absolutely thrilled to bits.

I really do recommend visiting that cathedral.

You can go all the way up to the top of it, but you need to go up a really steep spiral staircase to get there.

你还能爬到顶端，不过要爬一段特别陡峭的螺旋楼梯才能上去。

M: Considering Jane is terrified of heights, I think if I tried to make her do that, I would come back divorced.

男：简恐高，要是我非要拉她爬楼梯，回来我俩怕是就要离婚了。
