W:Hello, Mr. Chen. Take a seat.

W:陈先生，你好。请坐吧。

M:Thanks, Mrs. Robinson. Just call me Tim, please.

W:Okay, Tim, how are you doing this morning?

M: Very well Thanks. Actually,I'm quite excited.

W:Oh?

M:I've been a big fan of your magazine for many years now.I love what you do here.I love your witty writing, the clever features, and even the layout.

W:Nice of you to say so. We’ve been working hard to try to keep our magazine as current and relevant as possible. So... I've looked over your resume. You are bilingual, aren't you?

M:Yes. Actually, technically Chinese is my mother tongue.. my parents immigrated to Canada when I was seven.

I then started to learn English and French.LaterI went to school in the States and Europe as well,but my French is just conversational.

W:Well, being multilingual is always a plus. We are thinking about expanding our operations, and of course, China is a huge market.

OK... heres a question that might seem kind of off the wall. If you were a car, what kind of car would you be and why?

M:Hmm, interesting question.I'd say Id be one of the types of those sports cars.

Not too big.. not too flashy on the outside or less spacious inside, but lots of power under the hood. You're asking this to get a sense of my personality, right?

W:Yeah, that's the idea. So you’re saying that you are reliable and quite powerful... is that so?

M: Well, that's a good way of putting it.

W: Okay, how would you say you react under great pressure?

M:I've had to make a lot of major adjustments in my life, such as moving to a new country, picking up a new language and making new friends.

I’d say it was all completely stressful, but I faced each challenge as it came, and step by step, things got better.

For me, the whole key is not to let things pile up but instead to face each problem and attack it head-on.

W:OK So, what would you say is the most important thing in your job?

M:Having good direction from my supervisors,but also a high degree of freedom to implement creative ideas.

M:我的上司给了我很好的指导，但也有很大的自由去执行创造性的想法。

I need guidance, but of course, I don't want my creativity to be stifled.

我需要指导，但当然，我不希望我的创造力被扼杀。

W:Could you tell me why you left your last job?

M:Well,I needed a challenge.I felt like I was in a comfort zone, and I needed to shake things up in my life.

But that doesn’t mean I'm too ambitious.I enjoyed my time at my last job, but I feel like Im ready for the Major Leagues.

W:I noticed that you have recommendation letters from each of your previous supervisors. Their comments are all quite positive.

M:I'm honored that they value my work.I've found that I generally get along well with my supervisors and also coworkers.
