Home. It's the place where we should feel safe, surrounded by our family and familiar things.
The place where we wake up every morning,
go to sleep every night, knowing the walk to fetch water, the tree at the corner that's always there.
But for many across the world, and maybe you too, that feeling of safety is gone.
The reasons may be different, but the feeling is the same.
For some homes have been destroyed by war, earthquakes or floods.
Sometimes you might need to leave home quickly.
That can be difficult to understand.
Families are separated. When will you see them again?
You meet new friends, but they don't know you like your old ones do.
Some of you will go to school, but the lessons feel different, or you might not go to school at all.
You don't know how long your life will be like this.
You might ask yourself, is this my home?
Now? Would it change again? You might have nightmares or struggle to sleep at all, become angry without knowing why.
You might have a headache or a stomachache.
Fear or anxiety about your new situation can come out as pain in your body, or you might feel nothing.
So what are some of the things you can do to make things better?
One look for the familiar. Read the same books, kick the same ball, eat the same.
